I have the right attitude

Updated: Jan 19, 2023

Attitude is a powerful determinant of our success in life. It can determine how high we rise in our careers, businesses, and personal lives. I want to share with you today, what the Bible calls the attitude of the righteous.

The Bible mentions and defines the attitude of the righteous in Luke 1:17 (Amplified Bible). The attitude of the righteous is the power that God has given us as believers to exercise mastery over extents. There are times you know what to do but you do not know how far you should go or to what extent you should do it. When we operate in this attitude, we will never overdo anything or underperform in anything. This is an important concept to understand, as it can greatly impact our lives.

The attitude of the righteous puts us in a perpetual state and cycle of seeking and submitting to the will of God. Many people like to submit to the will of God as revealed by others, but they are not always willing to seek it out. The attitude of the righteous helps us to always be preoccupied with the recognition of what matters to the Father.

When we operate with the attitude of the righteous, we are able to consider the bigger picture and understand why we were brought where we are in the first place. This mindset will help us to avoid overdoing anything in our lives and gain mastery over extents.

This morning, the Lord shared with me one more reason that our attitude must be right. We know that attitude determines altitude, but the Lord also revealed that altitude should not be the only motivation for your attitude. He said, "consider also your multitude". He showed me Hebrews 12:1, which states that we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses.

The Lord asked me: Do you understand who your witnesses are?

Understanding your witnesses is the key to having the right behavior in front of them. There are people who have made mistakes in life not because they are not skillful but because they lacked the understanding of their witnesses.

Hebrews 12:1(MSG) reveals that our witnesses are not only composed of spectators who are present to be entertained. But among them also are trailblazers. Pioneers. People who have done what you are doing today and succeeded. People who have done what you are doing today and excelled.

This understanding can put you in the right frame of mind and hence express yourself appropriately. Those who are among your witnesses to be entertained may be satisfied by the newness or uniqueness of your expressions. But the trailblazers among your witnesses will only be satisfied by the correctness, potential, and excellence of what you are doing. This is a key to transcending mediocrity and achieving success in all fields of life.

In conclusion, the attitude of the righteous is a powerful ingredient for success in the life of a Christian. It helps us to seek and submit to the will of God and to always consider the bigger picture. Additionally, understanding our witnesses is crucial for achieving the right attitude and behavior in front of them.

As we proceed today, let us make it a priority to understand our witnesses in everything we do. I pray that God will give us the wisdom and understanding to do so.
