Enhance your aspirations

As we start the new year, it's important to consider what determines the quality of our aspirations. Are we motivated by what we see in others' lives or by societal trends? Or do we simply think it's something we should pursue based on where we are in our own lives? Whatever the reason, the Bible reminds us of the story of the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21. In this parable, a rich man's ground yields a bountiful harvest, but instead of being thankful and sharing his abundance, he decides to hoard it for himself, believing he has many years ahead to enjoy it. But God reminds him that his soul will be required of him that very night, and all the wealth he had accumulated would be of no use to him.

This year, as we experience an abundance of opportunities and blessings, it's crucial to keep three things in mind: our consciousness of God's presence, our willingness to be influenced by God's word, and our partnership with the Lord. When we are aware of God's presence in our lives, it helps us to make decisions that are in line with His will. Being open to His word helps us to avoid mistakes and stay on the right path. And working in partnership with God ensures that anything we pursue will be useful and bring us closer to His purpose for our lives.

So as we move forward in 2023, let's make sure to keep these things at the forefront of our minds and ensure that the quality of our aspirations is aligned with God's will. By doing so, we can make the most of the opportunities that come our way and experience true success and fulfillment in the year ahead.
