Continue laying a strong foundation.

It is important to remember the importance of building a strong foundation as we journey this new year. The scripture says in Psalms 11:3, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" We want to make sure that we start off 2023 on the right foot, so we can weather all the challenges that may come our way.

Proverbs 24:10 also reminds us that adversity can be a test of our strength. It says, "You are a poor specimen if you can’t stand the pressure of adversity." Proverbs 24:10 (TLB). None of us want to be a "poor specimen" in the new year, so it's crucial that we take the time to build a strong foundation.

One way to do this is by continuing steadfastly in our faith and in our community. Acts 2:42 tells us to "continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." So let's uphold one another as believers, no matter where we are in the world, and make sure that we are all building strong foundations for the year.

It's also important to remember that we don't have to do this alone. The scripture tells us that help is available to us when we need it. Isaiah 50:7 says, "Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame." So let's declare today that we are enjoying help from above and that we have the grace we need to effectively build strong foundations for the year.

Of course, a foundation-laying process can be challenging at times. There may be a lot of work to be done, and we may not have all the answers. But that's okay. As Isaiah 50:10-11 reminds us, we can trust in the LORD and rely on him, even when we are walking in darkness. So let's declare today that no matter how challenging this period may be, we will insist on walking in the light of God. Let's declare that we are walking in the light as the Father is in the light and that the light of God shines in our hearts to guide us every day.

Finally, let's remember that God does not owe anyone. He is too faithful to owe. Hebrews 11:6 says "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him". Also, Galatians 6:7 says "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." Since you are convinced that God rewards, and you know that what you are doing is good. Why don't you continue? It may look today like your efforts are not bearing fruits but I assure you, God cannot be mocked. You will certainly reap the results of this foundation-laying process.

I hope these thoughts have been helpful as you begin the new year. Let's make sure that we are laying strong foundations, both spiritually and in our daily lives, so that we can have a successful and fulfilling year.
