Cast all your cares

Today, the Lord wants to fellowship with you, but he wants you to first cast all of your cares upon him. In 1 Peter 5:5-7, the Bible tells us to "be clothed with humility" and to "humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God" so that he can "exalt us in due time" by casting our cares upon him.

Are there already cares standing in the way of the Lord's intimate communion with you? Do you know what it is that bothers you so much that makes it difficult for the Lord to get your attention?

As Jesus said in Luke 10:41-42, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

In Mark 4:19, the Bible warns us that "the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful." These things are bothering you because they want to choke the word you have received and make it unfruitful.

2 Corinthians 2:11 reminds us not to be ignorant of Satan's devices, so we must be careful to not let him take advantage of us by allowing the cares of the world to choke the word.

Today, the Lord wants to have you back.

It is important to remember, as Psalms 55:22 states, to "cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." What would you prefer? Do you prefer sustaining yourself or do you want the Lord to sustain you?

Cast all your cares upon the Lord. Allow Him to sustain you, and know that He is with you every step of the way.
